Arike Ogunbowale

Arike Ogunbowale is a American pro basketball player with the Dallas Wings of the Women's National Basketball Association. She played college basketball for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, prior to being selected by the Wings with the fifth overall selection in the 2019 WNBA draft. Arike Ogunbowale is a Milwaukee Wisconsin native born to Yolanda Ogunbowale. Mario Ogunbowale (26) and Dare Ogunbowale(20) are her brothers. She was the youngest of her family, and her parents took care of her the best. Her father Gregory was a soldier with the Nigerian Army for quite some period of time. Ogunbowale grew in a busy family. Her mother Yolanda and her brother Dare both played softball while at DePaul. Her aunt used to play volleyball at UAPB and their cousin Endia Oliver too plays Volleyball at Tennessee State. Ogunbowale was named on her institution's Honour Roll for three years consecutively. She has also won various honors and has received acclaim as well as recognition during her time at high school. Arike finished her schooling through Divine Savior Holy Angels High School, located in her home town. She was a varsity player for three seasons during her time at school. Her skills helped her win impressive victories while at the school. She has 73 high school start throughout her playing career, she is averaging 1,477 point and 739 rebounds. Ogunbowale competed in 2013 the FIBA Americas U16 Championships 2014 FIBA World U17 Championships 2013 3x3 Championships of FIBA for U18 in which she was awarded Gold Medals. On July 7 2014 she was selected to the 2014 USA Youth Olympic Women's Basketball Team. Ogunbowale was also selected to the ACC All-Freshman Team following her first year of collegiate basketball.
