Richard B. Cheney a prominent public servant and a businessman is vice-president of the United States. Cheney known as a popular figure within Washington politics, has served under four presidents in the US. George W. Bush is the fourth. Bush named Cheney as his vice-presidential running mate in 2000, owing to the shrewdness and wisdom of Cheney. Dick Cheney was a chief of Staff to Presidents, served on the United States Congress as Secretary of Defense, and served the nation in various positions. Both Republicans as well as Democrats appreciate his honesty and integrity. Cheney said that his job within the Bush administration will be that of a transparent but disinterested advisor. In accepting the Republican vice-presidential nod Cheney declared that he's looking at serving alongside a president who will work to get things done by engaging across the partisan divide and working with political opponents with good will and a common goal. Richard Bruce Cheney is the son Richard Herbert Cheney of the late Marjorie Lauraine Dickey. He was born January 30, 1941 within Lincoln Nebraska. When he was 13 years old Richard and his family moved out of Nebraska and moved to Casper where his dad was the head of Casper's U.S. Department of Agriculture local soil conservancy district.
